Your safari with SMARTBRAND EXPEDITIONS begins with a morning pickup from Arusha and a drive to Tarangire National Park. Known for its giant baobab trees and massive elephant herds, the park offers exceptional game viewing along the Tarangire River. You will spend the day tracking wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, and lions, before stopping for a scenic bush lunch.

In the late afternoon, you head to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands and descend into the vast, open plains of the Serengeti. Your game viewing starts immediately upon entering the Seronera region, where expert guides track big cats and plains game. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before spending the afternoon following migratory herds and resident wildlife.

As evening approaches, you will check into your Serengeti camp for dinner under the stars.

Activity: Transfer to Serengeti from Karatu for game drive

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive through the wildlife-rich plains, exploring the surrounding landscapes in search of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, and other wildlife. Take your time to enjoy the scenery and capture memorable photographs before departing for Karatu.

After the game drive, continue your journey towards Karatu, passing through the scenic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation, relax, and enjoy dinner and overnight.

Activity: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Karatu

After an early breakfast, depart from Karatu and drive towards the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Descend approximately 600 meters into the crater for an exciting game drive on the crater floor, where an exceptional concentration of wildlife can be found.

Explore the crater's grasslands, wetlands, and lakes while searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, and, with luck, the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the crater before continuing your wildlife exploration.

In the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and drive back to Karatu. Arrive at your accommodation for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Activity: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Karatu

You will depart Karatu early in the morning and travel down the Great Rift Valley escarpment toward the remote, peaceful shores of Lake Eyasi. Upon arrival, you will meet the indigenous Hadzabe people, one of the world's last remaining hunter-gatherer communities who continue to live traditionally off the land. Join the Hadzabe on an active bush walk to learn about their ancient tracking skills, natural foraging techniques, and bow-and-arrow craft. Next, you will visit a neighboring Datoga village, a pastoralist community celebrated for their traditional metalworking and blacksmithing abilities.

Watch the Datoga artisans melt scrap metal over open hearth fires to forge brass jewelry, everyday tools, and iron arrowheads. Take a peaceful nature walk along the scenic shore of Lake Eyasi to observe local birdlife and learn about the unique ecology of this soda lake. Afterward, you will enjoy a hot lunch before beginning your comfortable return drive to Arusha, ending your safari adventure with SMARTBRAND EXPEDITIONS in the late afternoon.
