3-DAY MIKUMI SAFARI WITH SGR EXPERIENCE FROM DAR ES SALAAM

Experience a seamless short-break safari combining Tanzania’s modern SGR high-speed train with a rich wildlife getaway in Mikumi National Park. Starting from Dar es Salaam, this 3-day itinerary avoids long highway driving by utilizing the rapid rail connection to Morogoro, followed by a scenic drive into the heart of the park.

Framed by the striking peaks of the Uluguru Mountains, Mikumi’s open floodplains and acacia woodlands offer prime wildlife viewing. Guests can expect regular sightings of elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, Cape buffaloes, hippos, and various antelopes, along with resident lion prides.

Following an early breakfast, return to the park for a comprehensive, full-day safari. With a flexible schedule dedicated entirely to tracking wildlife, your guide will navigate diverse habitats—ranging from expansive savannahs and palms to seasonal pools and acacia woodlands.

Mikumi holds dense concentrations of heavy game. Expect close encounters with grazing herds of zebras, wildebeests, and buffaloes, along with tower groups of giraffes and active birdlife around the Hippo Pools. Your guide will interpret animal behaviors and track resident predators such as lions and spotted hyenas.
