Day 01 :

SGR TRAIN TRANSIT TO MOROGORO & INITIAL MIKUMI GAME DRIVE

Activities: Express rail journey, scenic road transfer, and afternoon game drive

Your expedition begins in Dar es Salaam with a private transfer to the SGR station. Board the high-speed electric train for a smooth, comfortable ride through the coastal interior to Morogoro, where your dedicated safari guide will welcome you upon arrival.

From Morogoro, take a scenic road journey toward Mikumi National Park. After park entrance registration, enter the reserve for your first wildlife drive across the Mkata Floodplain. The late afternoon drive offers an immediate introduction to Mikumi’s open vistas, where elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and impalas congregate near water sources. As twilight sets in, exit the reserve to check into your nearby camp for dinner and an evening of relaxation.

Day 02 :

FULL-DAY MIKUMI WILDLIFE EXPEDITION

Following an early breakfast, return to the park for a comprehensive, full-day safari. With a flexible schedule dedicated entirely to tracking wildlife, your guide will navigate diverse habitats—ranging from expansive savannahs and palms to seasonal pools and acacia woodlands.

Mikumi holds dense concentrations of heavy game. Expect close encounters with grazing herds of zebras, wildebeests, and buffaloes, along with tower groups of giraffes and active birdlife around the Hippo Pools. Your guide will interpret animal behaviors and track resident predators such as lions and spotted hyenas. Enjoy a catered picnic lunch at a designated site inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to camp in the late afternoon for dinner.

Day 03 :

Following the morning drive, exit the park and journey back to Morogoro. Your guide will escort you to the SGR railway terminal in time for your return train to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival at the Dar es Salaam station, your safari arrangements conclude.
